In California beekeepers are busy keeping up with their bees! The honey is flowing in North San Diego County and Chaparral Honey in Valley Center has generously offered to host Friends of Farming, and show how they collect, process, and package up to 12 TONS of honey a day in their processing warehouse.
Chaparral Honey is closed on weekends, and since we want to see the process in action two tours will be held on Friday, August 12 when the processing line is running.
Because the tour will take place largely inside the warehouse space is limited so the tour size must be held to no more than 10 people per tour.
There will be a tour at 9 am and 2 pm.
If you are interested in seeing how honey gets from the bee to the jar, you won't want to miss this tour. Make sure to respond quickly to reserve your spot.
There will be a waitlist in case additional space opens.
Register today for your spot on this limited space tour:
Tour A: 9:00 am
Tour B: 2:00 pm
Please note: This is a tour of an active apiary and there WILL be BEES in the vicinity. If you are allergic to bees, please do not participate in this tour. Any questions can be directed to Casey Anderson at 760-745-3023.
